Back in the 90’s, Sunday mornings meant watching Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’ on
television with family and friends. Each person has varied memories or experiences
attached to this epic and multiple renditions of this story – be it dance dramas, the Ram -Lila
or mythological shows/films bring back a unique connection to this ancient literary text.
Retelling the story of this primordial era for young and old audiences is the upcoming Kunal
Kohli directorial – MX Original Series ‘Ramyug’.
Mounted on a large canvas and with its grand visuals, the show has received a big thumbs-
up from audiences across the country with even the original cast of Ramayan i.e. Arun Govil,
Dipika Chikhlia Topiwala, and Sunil Lahri looking forward to the show on MX Player.
