Yoga is the hardware and software, of the human body. We can continue to do it as much as we want to. Every Indian is born with the ability to do Yoga mentioned Dr. Kiran Bedi, IPS (Retd.) in a session organized by PHD Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI) and PHD Family Welfare Foundation (PHDFWF) on the occasion of 7th International Yoga Day. 

 Dr. Kiran Bedi discussed the message given by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of International Yoga Day and the rich history of yoga. She mentioned that Yoga is widely considered as the immortal cultural outcome of the Indus Valley civilization and has proven itself to cater to the material and spiritual upliftment of humanity. 

 Talking about the fundamentals and types of yoga, Dr. Kiran Bedi mentioned that it works on all the levels of the body including mind, emotion, and energy. She shared the key practices of yoga which are cleanness; a practice on an empty stomach and a mat in light clothes. She also shared a yoga diet that includes juices, fresh fruits, water, and a vegetarian diet. She discussed the importance of Karma Yoga, its importance, and the benefits of practicing it in life. 

 Ms. Suneeta Trivedi, Secretary (Retd.), GOI, GB Member, WC Committee, PHDFWF talking about yoga and spirituality mentioned that spirituality is a form of power and connection which is around everyone and it needs to be made into a habit for life. Spirituality gives one the power to have inner strength, become logical, and have acceptance and commission towards life and people. Yoga creates harmony and oneness with the universe and spirituality. 

 Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, President, PHDCCI in his presidential address deliberated about the importance of yoga and how its practice can promote the holistic health of every individual. International Yoga Day celebrates the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world stage. This year, the International Day of Yoga is putting its focus on well-being beyond the immediate impact on physical health. It is much relevant for our times in a society still recovering from the impact of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

 Mr. Pradeep Multani, Sr. Vice President, PHDCCI while discussing the importance of yoga and its worldwide ancient practice for a healthy mind and body especially in the times of the pandemic. Yoga is helped in healing physical and mental health crises during the times of the pandemic. He mentioned that the world needs to take yoga seriously and practice it in the wake of COVID-19 which helps in boosting our immunity at the same time relaxing our body physically and mentally. 

 Mr. Saket Dalmia, Vice President, PHDCCI talking about his experience of Yoga, he emphasized that Yoga is research of mind, body, and soul which helps in healing and immunity-boosting. Ms. Anuradha Goel, Chairperson, PHDFWF while moderating the session deliberated about the noble works and developments done by the Family Welfare Foundation in various areas of society like health and family welfare, skill development training, education, sanitization facilities, education, disability and disabled people care, digital media training, self-defense training and many more. 

Ms. Priya Hingorani, Sr. Advocate, Supreme Court, GB Member, WC Committee, PHDFWF while talking about the importance of yoga, mentioned that yoga has become a part of our work from home lives. Yoga has been prescribed by the doctors for the people who were battling with the pandemic which helps to build immunity, strength and increase lung capacity. According to her, the five mantras of happiness have been yoga, using home remedies, having family time, consuming home-cooked food, and building hobbies.
