Created by Jemaine Clement and Paul Yates, this spoof is a part of Comedy Central’s new block called ‘Happiness Buffet – New Comedies, Served Fresh’.

Wellington Paranormal – a horror-comedy mockumentary that follows the lives of three police officers from Wellington, New Zealand, is about to hit Indian televisions soon. Created by Jemaine Clement and Paul Yates, this show is a part of Comedy Central’s new block called Happiness Buffet – New Comedies, Served Fresh block. Watch Wellington Paranormal Season 1-4 on Comedy Central from 12th September, Monday to Friday at 10 pm.

A spin-off of the hit mockumentary, What We Do In The Shadows, Wellington Paranormal follows three officers, Minogue, O’Leary, and Sergeant Maaka. While these three are normal police officers, the crimes they solve are definitely not, after all demonic possessions, blood bank robberies, and haunted houses do not constitute normal!

The Humor Just like the What We Do In The Shadows, the series manages to make you feel awkward and make you laugh until you fall off your seats at the same time. The humor of Wellington Paranormal is dry humor, with perfect punchlines and timings. With a cleverly written script and dialogues, you’re sure to watch it again. And everytime you do, you might discover something new that you missed on the first go.

A Series Of Mysterious Events The series is a mix of many mysterious events happening all over Wellington. Every episode introduces a new monster, and with every new monster come several strange scenarios. And when we say strange, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. From vampires to werewolves, this show has all freaky elements but still carries that comedic essence.

A Show Focused On Character Work Wellington Paranormal is one such series that focuses on presenting the best to the audience in the forms of characters and acting. The show focuses not just on the police officers, but also on the monsters. Just like the wacky investigators, the monsters too make the best of their screen time with their inane physical comedy.

A (Weird) Buddy-Cop Show Minogue and O’Leary are just two goofy cops trying not to mess up their jobs and stay alive. There isn’t really much room for chemistry, investigating monsters and paranormal activity is a busy job. While the two aren’t necessarily the sharpest tools in the shed, you know they will get the job done!
