Indian Weightlifting Federation under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and Government of Uttar Pradesh will be hosting & Organising 2023 Commonwealth Senior, Junior & Youth Weightlifting Championship and 2023 AWF Asian Junior & Youth Weightlifting Championship held at Gautam Buddha University Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh from 12 – 16th July 2023 & 28th July – 05th Aug 2023 respectively. The event will introduce exposure to the Indian Weightlifter and also new venues for International competition in India.
The opening ceremony for 2023 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship will be held on 11th july 2023 at 5.00 pm at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. & the opening ceremony for 2023 AWF Asian Weightlifting Championship will held on 27th July 2023 at Gautam Buddha University only.

The Chief Guest during the inaugural ceremony for the 2023 Commonwealth Championship will be Hon’ble Member of Parliament Mr. Mahesh Sharma from Gutam Buddha Nagar &Guest of honor will be Mrs. Karnam Malleswari Padma Shri Awardee & Vice Chancellor Delhi Sports University.
The Chief Guest during the inaugural ceremony for the 2023 AWF Asian Weightlifting Championship will be Hon’ble Shri Anurag Thakur Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports.
