Sahitya Akademi, the National Academy of Letters, to organize the World’s Largest Literature Festival ‘Sahityotsav’ from 11th to 16th March 2024 in New Delhi

 “Sahityotsav”, the ‘Festival of Letters’ of Sahitya Akademi, India’s most inclusive literature festival will be held from March 11 to March 16, 2024, in New Delhi. 39th edition of  ‘Sahityotsav 2024 ‘ will be also a part of the celebrations to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Sahitya Akademi. The Festival will take place in the Rabindra Bhawan Lawns, Kamani Auditorium, Art Galleries of Lalit Kala Akademi and Sahitya Akademi Auditoriums. More than 1000 renowned writers of about 170 languages from all over India will participate in the Festival. In more than 190 sessions of the festival, Samvatar Lecture by Gulzar, Seminar on Post- Independence Indian Literature, Awardees’Meet, and Sahitya Akademi Award Presentation Ceremony will be the main attractions of the Festival.

Dr. K. Sreenivasarao, Secretary, Sahitya Akademi said, ‘this year is special in many aspects.  Differently abled writers will participate for the first time in this festival. It will be world’s largest literature festival and more than 1100 writers will participate in more than 190 sessions. this year, we are also celebrating 70 years of the foundation of Sahitya Akademi on 12th March 2024 and on the same day, the Sahitya Akademi Award Presentation Ceremony will be conducted at Kamani Auditorium.

Samvatsar Lecture by Gulzar, Seminar on ‘Post-Independence Indian Literature’, Pannel discussion on several significant subjects, ‘Tribal writers’ Meet’, ‘LGBTQ Writers’ Meet’, ‘Differently abled Writers’ Meet’, ‘Purvottari: North -Eastern Writers’ Meet’, ‘Yuva Sahiti: Young Writers’ Meet’ and ‘Spin-A—Tale: Programme for Children’, besides cultural performances in the evenings are some of the major attractions of 39th edition of the Sahityotsav.
