Chairman NDMC inaugurates “ROSE FESTIVAL” at India – Africa Friendship Rose Garden, Chanakyapuri.

On the occasion, Chairman NDMC Shri Amit Yadav felicitated the winners of Tulip Photography competition which was held during the Tulip Festival from 10th-21st February, 2024. The winners of the Photography Competition were Ms. Prerna, Ms Shampa Moitra and Mr. Gukulananda Nandan. The Chairman NDMC also felicitated Mr. Ishtiyaq Ahmed from Give Me Trees Trust – NGO, who was coordinator and Guide of Tulip Walk and Shri Vikramjeet Singh Rooprai who was judge of the Tulip Photography Competition.

Chairman NDMC said that the Rose Festival, Tulip Festival and Flower Festival of NDMC make a place in the prominent event calendar in Delhi. Thousands of flower lovers appreciated such types of events to enhance the beauty and fragrance of the heart of New Delhi.

Shri Yadav informed that after the Tulip Festival success and appreciation from the large public of different walks of life, this year NDMC is celebrating the spring season with the series of events. Under the series of spring celebrations, NDMC Rose Festival is open for all for six days from 2nd to 7th March, 2024 in the India- Africa Friendship Rose Garden, Shanti Path, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi in which more about 75 varieties of roses are displayed for the public. It not only showcases the beauty but also enhances the environment with the fragrance of the New Delhi area. The Chairman NDMC appeals to the public to come and enjoy the beauty and vibrancy through varieties of rose.

 A Book Reading session was also held in the opening ceremony of Rose Garden on the “Baolis of Delhi” . The book was written by Shri Vikramjit Singh Rooprai and its Foreword written by Sohail Hashmi.

 To celebrate the Spring Season in the New Delhi area, New Delhi Municipal Council is organising a series of events like Tulip festival, Music in the Park, Flower Festival, Rose Festival and Food Festival.
