NDMC Celebrates Haryali Teej Festival with Grandeur at PSOI Club, Chanakyapuri,

NDMC marked a vibrant and joyous celebration of Haryali Teej for the very first time with its employees at the green lawns of PSOI Club, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.This cultural extravaganza, resonating with the spirit of monsoon, was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, as the Chief Guest.While addressing the gathering Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Rekha Gupta said that “Teej is not just a celebration of tradition and togetherness—it’s a vibrant reflection of the joy and rejuvenation that Sawan brings. As sisters and daughters adorn their hands with mehendi and swing in celebration, nature too swings in delight, draped in lush green.

She said that “I heartily congratulate NDMC for receiving the national level Swachh Survekshan Award for cleanest city and setting a national benchmark by keeping its area green and clean throughout the year. Let this serve as an inspiration for all of Delhi to transform our entire city into one that is not only clean and green but also joyful and full of life. Only then can we truly create the Delhi that its citizens dream of.” she added.“Extending her heartfelt wishes on the occasion, New Delhi MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj remarked that Haryali Teej is not just about swings and mahendi – it’s a vibrant celebration of joy, tradition and inner strength. This festival brings our daughters together, nurturing a sense of unity and cultural pride and also inspire them to rise with confidence and courage. Today, we are living in an era where daughters are not only dreaming big but are also achieving greatness in every walk of life.”

The celebration witnessed the esteemed presence of National Secretary of BJP, Dr. Alka Gurjar, Chairman NDMC, Shri Keshav Chandra, Vice Chairman NDMC, Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal and NDMC Members Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh and Smt. Sarita Tomar. The program was also attended by the Ex Vice Chairman of NDMC & MLA, Shri Satish Upadhyay with other dignitaries. A large number of NDMC’s women staff as well other employees also enthusiastically participated in the celebrations.

The event transformed into a cultural confluence with traditional folk dances from Punjab, Rajasthan, and Garhwal, energetic group performances and spirited competitions. A variety of vibrant Mahendi and Bangles stalls, food kiosks, and other festive attractions brought alive the true essence of Teej.This celebration by NDMC was not only a tribute to cultural heritage but also a gesture of togetherness and community spirit among its workforce. The event reflected NDMC’s ongoing commitment to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and culturally enriched work environment.

NDMC Haryali Teej, celebrated during the lush monsoon season, it is a festival deeply rooted in Indian tradition, symbolizing renewal, prosperity and devotion. Primarily a women-centric festival, so that a large number of women staff were participated and it was full marked by singing, dancing and adorning green or red attire, with swings beautifully decorated for the occasion.
