“Nine Anupam Colony achievement reflects the collective commitment of NDMC residents towards environmental responsibility and sustainable living” – Shri Keshav Chandra.

In a significant step towards promoting sustainable urban living and strengthening community-led environmental stewardship, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairperson – Shri Keshav Chandra today certified Golf Link as an “Anupam Colony” by unveiling the plaque at Golf Link Colony in New Delhi, recognizing it as a model residential community for exemplary waste management and sustainability practices.
Speaking after unveiling the Certification plaque conferring the status of “Anupam Colony” on Golf Links Colony, NDMC Chairman – Shri Keshav Chandra congratulated the local residents and said that “NDMC takes immense pride in recognizing Golf Links Colony as the ninth ‘Anupam Colony’ under our Waste Management and Sustainability Initiative. This achievement reflects the collective commitment of residents towards environmental responsibility and sustainable living. further stated that the dedicated efforts of the Golf Link residents have created a model of community-led waste management that can inspire and guide other neighbourhoods across the city. Such initiatives not only contribute to cleaner surroundings but also strengthen our vision of building environmentally conscious and self-sustaining communities. Shri Chandra also commend the invaluable contribution of the partner voluntary organizations / NGOs and community groups whose continuous support and active participation have played a significant role in achieving this milestone.
Expressing gratitude to NDMC for conferring the prestigious “Anupam Colony” certification upon Golf Links Colony, Golf Links Association President – Shri Ajay Mathur said that “We are deeply honoured to receive the ‘Anupam Colony’ certification under NDMC’s pioneering sustainability initiative. This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of our residents in transforming the vision of a Zero-Waste Colony into reality. It reflects our unwavering commitment to responsible waste management, environmental stewardship, and sustainable community living.
Joint Secretary of the Golf Links Association, Mrs. Namrata Khanna, highlighted the community’s ongoing sustainability initiatives and said that the residents of Golf Links Colony have been actively working to promote the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle through collaborative community-driven initiatives. In partnership with the NGO Chintan, we have been encouraging sustainable waste management practices at the local level. Simultaneously, we are working closely with the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) to ensure the scientific collection and responsible disposal of plastic waste. These efforts reflect our commitment to fostering a circular economy and building an environmentally conscious community for future generations.”
The “Anupam Colony” initiative is a flagship component of NDMC’s broader sustainability agenda aimed at transforming residential neighbourhoods into self-sustaining, environmentally conscious communities. The certification recognizes colonies that not only adopt scientific waste management practices but also foster a culture of environmental responsibility among residents. With the inclusion of Golf Link, NDMC has now certified Nine residential areas as Anupam Colonies, namely viz Chanakyapuri (D-1, D-2 and Satya Sadan Officers’ Flats) in June 2025, Bharti Nagar in July 2025, Aradhana (Burmah Shell Cooperative Housing Society Ltd.) in 2025, Bapu Dham in September 2025, New Moti Bagh in October 2025, Kaka Nagar in February 2026, Jor Bagh in May2026, Sangli Aprtments in June , 2026 and now certified another in June 2026 Golf Link.
