As India clinched a historic double gold medal at the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Budapest 2024, Global Chess League Chairperson Peeyush Dubey extended his congratulations to the Indian contingent.The journey to India’s gold medal at the Chess Olympiad was nothing short of spectacular. Eight consecutive victories demonstrated the dominance of our Indian GMs. The draw to defending champions Uzbekistan also did not deter their spirit to clinch the winner. What I really like about this set of young GMs is their grit and determination. This gold medals brought great joy to chess lovers in the country and we are particularly thrilled as this big win comes only days before the Global Chess League begins in London where most of these players will turn up and will be teammates with players from other countries who they competed against in the Chess Olympiad showcasing the true spirit of sportsmanship
