Saransh Jain reaps rewards of domestic consistency with maiden India Test call-up

Madhya Pradesh all-rounder Saransh Jain has been rewarded for his consistent domestic performances with his maiden selection in India’s Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against Sri Lanka. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the 15-member squad, with Saransh emerging as one of the notable inclusions. Ahead of the series, the Indian team will play a four-day practice match in Colombo starting on August 7 before the first Test begins in Galle on August 15.
Saransh has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh. In 54 First-Class matches, he has scored 2,223 runs, including two centuries and 14 half-centuries and has picked up 188 wickets, establishing himself as a dependable all-round contributor.
Saransh Jain said, ”It is an incredible honour to be selected for the Indian Test team. Representing Royal Nimar Eagles in the Madhya Pradesh League 2026, Saransh played a pivotal role in the team’s impressive campaign.
