The inclusion of Diwali in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list has elevated the pride of every Sanatani across the world – Goyal

After inclusion of Diwali in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, on 10th December ,2025, Deepotsav in the national capital Delhi was dedicated to a historic moment and a wave of celebration has swept across the entire country. United Hindu Front’s International Working President and National President of Rashtravadi Shiv Sena, Shri Jai Bhagwan Goyal, said that UNESCO’s recognition sends a strong message to the world that Indian traditions are not merely festivals, but a way of life that unites humanity. He said that the enthusiastic celebration of the International Yoga Day in 180 countries is the biggest proof of this. Indian Yoga is no longer just a physical practice—it has evolved into a global lifestyle and a foundation for health. From the United Nations to major global forums, Yoga today has become a universal bridge that connects all of humanity. Similarly, several countries—such as Nepal, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Singapore, and the United States—have recognized Diwali as an official national holiday. This is direct evidence of the global acceptance and respect for Indian culture. The presence of a Diwali holiday across the world is now narrating the story of the international success of India’s spiritual heritage.
Shri Goyal said that with the echo of Sanatan culture resonating across the globe, India’s timeless traditions—Yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, harmony with nature, family-centered social structure, and the cultural significance of the festival of lights—are now being accepted with respect in every corner of the world. Amid rapidly changing global circumstances, the message of peace, goodwill, and harmony embedded in Sanatan values is emerging as a new guiding force for humanity. He further said that India’s growing role in the world economy, its leadership voice for the Global South, and its unprecedented progress in fields like space, technology, defense, and startups—together indicate that India is rising not just as a cultural superpower but as a comprehensive global power. The day is not far when India will emerge as Vishwaguru, guided by the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.” With achievements like this, when Indian traditions receive global recognition, it becomes a matter of pride and confidence for every Indian.
